Sony denotes BDP-S350, BDP-S550: first fresh Blu-ray participants since the autumn of HD DVD
March 8th, 2008
Sony could break even nowadays, since they do non have to do the marvellous secret plan of competition.
Because Blu-Ray pool = only Sony.
They still have to vie with companies like LG and Engadget.
… Maked I genuinely simply state Engadget?
Wow.
Last time I checkered, there were a dozen or so consumer electronics companies vying for your blu ray bucks. An MSRP of USD 400 in all likelihood means USD 350 on the street and there will be inexpensive players than that if its still to a fault a good deal.
Sony still has sighted of competition: Panasonic, Samsung, DENON, Hitachi, Phillips, Crisp, Pioneer, and Homer A (RCA) are venders of Blu-ray Participants.

Sony should deal them at least at USD 1000 to suck in last dime bag from those loosers balloting for blue papa
turn freaken time. catch up to what hddvd was after they die. least we can purchase players today with ethernet.
Ethernet, hmmmm?
I guess this means we can anticipate firmware updates in the future. I guess this means it may be safe to purchase a Blu-ray player early than the PS3 today (good, and non have to care about it non being capable to maintain up with any specification they’re on this hebdomad).
I cognise the optical maser is blue, and the gens is “blu”, but do people truly want a blue element? Snowy, silver and black are the colours these hours, non blue. I would non purchase one only because it’d look surly with the residue of my stuff. At least the HD DVD people held the full sense non to get their equipment red.
Good expressed. I ca non be that hard to bring forth it in multiple colors for those who really like their livingroom equipment non to cast on esthetics…
Meh. Yield me a USD 200 blu-ray player and peradventure I will start giving care.
Meh! Yield me a Blu-ray player that cost at least a duo of thousand bucks from a high-end AV brand and possibly I will start giving care.
The player really looks decent.
I wonder if the BDP-s350’s load time has meliorated all over the BDP-S300
I sure hope so, I victimised the stop watch on my mobile to clock the BDP-S300 from load the flick to really acting it, and it came up in at merely all over 4 minutes on Spiderman 3 that was rolled up in the loge. Utterly maddening, former players do use up a patch (2-3 minutes from load to represent) but there is no excuse for this. Genuinely hope it’s been refined in novel unit of measurements.
Wow Daza, 4 minutes? That is beyond silly. My Toshiba HD-A2, after the last updates, travels from powerfulness, to picture show playacting in under 1 minute and near to 45 sec.
Occupy an expression at the ikons. The S550 player sports a BD-Live logotype but the S350 doesn’t. Non that I believe it’s an of import characteristic but its worth remarking. An inadvertence?
I like the expression, and that S550 sounds mighty decent. I hope it drops a considerable sum for the ‘08 holiday season.
Ethernet ports do non ever mean firmware updates. Cognising sony and how they pull BS on everything it would non surprise me if it were more for “consumer trailing” or some early BS to descry on consumers or some eccentric of telephone call in affair to get certain it makes non backup man blu’s when they start devising their style into the general public. or possibly it is to let go a rootkit attack on your LAN that it will download with the next afforded firmware. all in the gens of protecting yourself from yourself.
yea i cognise it sounds paranoid, but come up on how lots of multiplication has sony through BS like this, and makes anyone conceive they will non proceed to do it?
So wherefore are these thing still so big????
