Something looks uneven about the controversial Capital of Maine County motocross state of affairs. After blood brothers Doug and Dame Alice Ellen Terry Argenbright travelled to the disbursal, time, and defeat of doing work with the Augusta County regime, hosting a public motocross exposition, and eventually having a special use permit from the Plank of Zoning Appeals ... a procedure that has been months in the fashioning … the Expoland board of managing directors spurned their request.
I do not have a Equus caballus in this race but something makes not look rather right to me. Wherefore made not Expoland vote it down in the starting out or else of threading along two local business community, fashioning them jump through governmental basketball game … and then disallowing the entire stick out? If the board had got an issue with this endeavour, mutual sense would look to state they should have got through the Argenbrights and said them it would not be sanctioned.
The number had got been put over three months ago by the Plank of Zoning Appeals … in that time one would conceive the Expoland board could have trodden in and stopped up it. Expoland is a non-profit tax-exempt organization that has reportedly held fiscal troubles for months, allegedly struggling to get ends see. It looks uneven to change state away an obvious money-making business organisation.
Being queer, I got a few phone calls Wednesday morn and have acquired some ground on this state of affairs. I named Expoland and spoke with Judy Neil Armstrong, the managing director, who articulated the board held no comment on the state of affairs. When I inquired for the name calling of those on the board, she articulated she would not afford extinct that info and would have soul call me.
I posterior standard a phone call from Hun Centimes, a fellow member of the board, who emphasised they would have no comment beyond the press release that was brought out Tuesday.
Bob Gilbert Charles Stuart at the Waynesboro Intelligence Virginian emphasised they were not apprised by Expoland but, instead, got through by the Argenbrights about the conclusion. The NV reached Exhibition that then telefaxed a transcript of the press release to them.
My realizing is the Augusta Board of Supervisory programs would not get mired in this state of affairs.
What I have got word is …
The Argenbrights reinforced a temporary track (at their expense) and chartered an engineer to preclude distressful the soil so they could horde the expo that was maintained Feb 23. They were requisite to rent the soil from Expoland for the temporary track. Board fellow members from the Zoning Appeals Board and Exposition Board were all there and appeared enthusiastic.
The Argenbrights were learnt three hebdomads ago to get a rental ready for treatment with the Exhibition Board.
The Argenbrights were named to a group meeting at Expoland Tues forenoon. Their prospect was that the treatment was moving to be about the letting and pounding extinct the inside information. They were handed an press release expression their request had got been refused and no farther account was profferred.
During my phone conversations, the gens that unbroken coming up up was Bob Thompson who plant at Plantation owners Bank in Gilbert Stuarts Draft. He looks to be a big participant in this … and what I have got wind about that is:
Bob Homer Armstrong Thompson reinforced the Bozo Brook townhomes crossways I-64 from Expoland, the home proprietors who have been the most vocal in resistance to the motocross track. They live beside a fussy interstate, they have melanised soot from the interstate straining into their country but they verbalised fear about the racket and dust from the motocross track on the opposite face of I-64.
Bob Homer Thompson was successful in having the Plank of Supervisory programs rezone the Fathead Brook belongings from business organization to multi-dwelling.
The Fathead Brook townhomes, in any case sitting down beside a fussy interstate, are in the thick of medical and business office edifices, religious service Stations, a hotel, an infirmary, a nearby lumber pace, churches, and lots of early industrial-type business organizations.
Mr. Homer A still possesss all over 100 landed estate in the Exhibition country and reportedly wants to germinate more living accommodations.
It is bruited Mr. Homer Thompson wants to purchase Expoland.
It is bruited the Chairperson of the Plank of Zoning Appeals is Mr. Thompson’s ally. The Zoning Appeals special use permit was went across 3-2 with the chair ballot against, from my realising.
Though Expoland would not say me who was on their Board of Managing directors, I have been capable to bump extinct three name calling: Hun Centimes, Mabel Hard cash with Lionel Hampton Lodges (that would benefit from a motocross track position nearby), and the director of Community of interests Bank in Gilbert Charles Stuarts Draft.
What fell out? Who else is on that board? What inherent electric currents are at play in this political raging tater issue? Exposition verbalized cares about conflicts of the motocross track with former cases. That reason was there three months ago when the number was deferred by the Zoning Appeals Board; wherefore wait until nowadays to take it up? Could Exhibition have been desiring the Entreaties Board would vote it down so they would not have to occupy a public stand?
There are plenty of questions to be replied.
Say Bob Stuart’s article in the Waynesboro News-Virginian
Update # 1: There is rather a treatment travelling on about this all over at the Intelligence Drawing card site. Likewise, check extinct these Provision Commission group meeting notes
Update # 2: As a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, Expoland is postulated by jurisprudence to furnish a transcript of its 990 tax return sort that was subjected to the Internal Revenue Service to anyone in the public who requests it. The name calling of their board would be on that list. It must be uncommitted to the public and they cannot refuse a postulation. All that is necessitated is to take the air into their business office and request the kind. You may have to hold back for them to get copies — possibly 10-15 pages — but they have to honour your request.
Update # 3: This was sent as the Exhibition Board but have not been capable to check over for truth: Hun Centimes - Chief Executive; Walt Winkler - VP; James Joyce Balsley - Sec; Larry Cohorn - Treas; John Huffy Jr - Manager.
